Gokulam Kerala FC will face Punjab FC today in their first Group C match of the Super Cup in Goa. The game is set to kick off at 4:30 PM at the Bambolim Stadium. The team has been training for about a month under a new Spanish coach. Earlier this season, the team also took part in the IFA Shield in Kolkata. Gokulam is entering the Super Cup with a completely new-look team. The 27-member squad for the tournament, managed by Spanish coach Jose Hevia, includes five Spanish players and nine players from Kerala. The latest addition to the forward line is Alberto Torres from Spain. Kozhikode native Shibin Raj will lead the team as captain. The match will be streamed live on the Indian Football YouTube channel.
The team’s next matches are against Bengaluru FC on November 2 and Mohammedan SC on November 5. “The team is getting better with every training session. This tournament will certainly not be an easy one, so it is the best pre-season preparation the team can get before the I-League,” said Head Coach Jose Hevia.
