According to ABC, Guarani reached the top of the Paraguayan Clausura after a strong win against General Caballero de Juan León Mallorquín. Coach Víctor Bernay praised his players’ effort and focus.
“The players performed well, scoring early and showing determination to continue. Being at the top is rare, so we aim to stay there with the same intensity,” Bernay noted, recognizing the responsibility that comes with leading.
The coach emphasized the value of earning three points for both the standings and the overall season, while reminding everyone that there is still a long way to go. “Our goal is to give our all for this team. We have rhythm, creativity, and unity, which makes me very proud,” he said.
Bernay attributed the team’s success to consistent effort and strong teamwork. “These players give their all in training. Sometimes we have to manage their workload, but that intensity shows in their play, improving the team’s performance,” he added.
He highlighted that unity is essential to Guarani’s ethos, noting instances where forwards contributed to defense, demonstrating a collective effort. Bernay also commended the leadership and staff, emphasizing the importance of humility in their current success.
“We hope to enjoy this period while staying focused, understanding that every match is an opportunity to gather points and remain competitive in the tournament,” he concluded.
