Pep Guardiola did not comment on the possible transfer of Antoine Semenyo to Manchester City during the January window.
The City manager also kept silent about the future of Oscar Bobb, who has been mentioned in connection with Borussia Dortmund and other clubs.
Bournemouth and City are reportedly nearing an agreement for Semenyo, who has a £65 million release clause that can be triggered between January 1 and January 10.
However, a deal might not be as close as expected. Andoni Iraola suggested after Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea that Semenyo could play again before any transfer.
Semenyo appeared to say goodbye to the Bournemouth fans after his performance in the match on Tuesday.
Iraola mentioned that he expects the winger to participate in at least one more game for Bournemouth, who face Arsenal this Saturday at Dean Court.
“It’s not his last game here,” he said. “I can’t say for sure, but I think he will play.
“He needs to recover since we have had two tough games in three days. We’re preparing for a difficult match against the leaders.”
Guardiola avoids specifics on Semenyo and Bobb ahead of January
Before Thursday’s match against Sunderland, Guardiola did not provide any updates about Semenyo or Bobb, who has started five games in the Premier League this season.
“What will happen, will happen,” he said.
“I have no news. The winter transfer window is completely closed right now.”
