Guardiola’s Bold Stance on Palestine Sparks Controversy

Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City coach, is actively engaged in social issues. On Monday, he spoke on RAC-1 about the upcoming match on Tuesday at 1:00 PM IST between Catalonia and Palestine. Nearly 25,000 tickets have already been sold for this event organized by Act X Palestine. “This match goes beyond mere symbolism. Today, everything is known, and with this confrontation, Palestinians will see that part of the world thinks of them. The world has abandoned Palestine. We have done nothing. It’s not their fault they were born there. We have all allowed the annihilation of an entire people. The harm is done and irreversible.”

He further stated: “I cannot imagine anyone in the world defending the atrocities in Gaza. Our children could be killed there simply because they were born. I have no trust in these leaders. They will do anything to stay in power. Symbolism helps raise awareness, but we need more concrete actions. There is always a reason to protest, in this case, a football match. It is symbolic, yes, but what matters most is that for a moment, Palestinians can see that we care, and the stadium can bring them joy.” His message is clear.
