Arsenal player Viktor Gyökeres is adjusting well to his new team and has quickly gained popularity among the club’s supporters, who have created a chant for him. Videos on social media show fans singing the chant from the stands.
The chant is sung to the tune of Salt-N-Pepa’s ‘Push It,’ with the line: “He dumped his girlfriend, to play in red and white.”
This line refers to reports that Gyökeres ended his relationship with his Portuguese girlfriend Inês Aguiar over the summer to pursue a move to Arsenal.
In an interview with Swedish outlet Sportbladet, Viktor expressed his admiration for the club’s fans and thanked them for their warm reception.
When a journalist asked about the chant related to his personal life, Gyökeres opted not to comment on the topic.
