Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi remain the top figures in Champions League history, leading in several key stats. Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe is quickly closing the gap as he builds his own legacy. Recently, Erling Haaland matched a notable record by Mohamed Salah with a standout performance at Manchester City, proving his talent while still trailing these legends.

After a tough season, Erling Haaland has started the 2025-26 campaign strong. The Manchester City striker has 11 goals and one assist in just eight games. In the Champions League, he scored a vital goal, equaling a significant milestone previously set by Mohamed Salah.

As per MisterChip, Erling Haaland has scored 52 goals in the Champions League, tying with Mohamed Salah. However, Haaland achieved this in only 50 matches, while Salah took 100. His scoring rate indicates he may soon break or set new records in this competition.

Haaland’s rate has not yet matched Kylian Mbappe, who has scored 60 goals in the tournament, surpassing both Haaland and legends like Thomas Muller and Ruud van Nistelrooy. However, both young stars have a long way to go before reaching the records held by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

What is the current UEFA Champions League all-time goal scorer ranking?

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo still lead the all-time Champions League scoring list, while a veteran player continues to chase their records. In the meantime, rising stars like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland have not yet made it into the top five goal scorers, allowing other legendary players to maintain their positions.

Name Number of goals
1. Cristiano Ronaldo 140 goals
2. Lionel Messi 129 goals
3. Robert Lewandowski 105 goals
4. Karim Benzema 90 goals
5. Raul Gonzalez 71 goals

Both Mbappe and Haaland are set to rise in the Champions League all-time rankings. Currently, Mbappe holds the sixth position, while Haaland is in ninth. Despite their rankings, they are already making their mark in the competition’s history as they follow in the footsteps of legends like Messi and Ronaldo. Robert Lewandowski is currently the closest rival.
