Fabrice Bocquet, the new president of OGC Nice, has finally spoken out regarding the serious incidents that occurred on Sunday evening at the Aiglons training center. In an interview with L’Équipe, Bocquet addressed the resignation of his coach Franck Haise, which was submitted on Monday. He confirmed that the 54-year-old coach did consider stepping down and also suggested that Bocquet should resign as well.
“Franck reached out to me first on Monday since I was focused on those most affected by the situation, which wasn’t him. He quickly mentioned not only his desire to resign but that all three of us (himself, Haise, and Maurice) should resign together. That wasn’t my line of thinking at that moment,” he explained. He also noted that Florian Maurice did not share the same sentiment regarding resignation. “When we discussed this on Monday and even afterward, when Franck talked about a joint resignation, that wasn’t Florian’s mindset. We will have to see how things unfold from here.”
