Hansi Flick’s Insight on the Chance to Coach Lionel Messi

After two and a half years of waiting, Barcelona will finally return to Camp Nou this Saturday to face Bilbao. A crowd limit of 45,000 has been set for the match as the stadium is still undergoing renovations. The event is expected to attract several former club legends. Unfortunately for the Catalan supporters, Lionel Messi is unlikely to participate due to his tight schedule with Inter Miami, which plays on Sunday. However, he did visit the stadium just last week.

During a press conference on Friday, Hansi Flick was asked about the surprise visit from the Argentine star and the possibility of coaching him in the future: “Messi is the best football player of the last ten years, if not more. I have always enjoyed watching him play; he is fantastic, and his achievements are incredible. Coaching him one day? His contract ends in 2028, mine in 2027… it’s not up to me.”
