Bayern Munich started their Champions League season strongly, beating Chelsea 3-1 at the Allianz Arena. Harry Kane scored two goals, achieving a milestone shared only by Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.

Kane’s penalty goal increased Bayern’s lead to 2-0, making him the third player in Champions League history to score 20 or more goals with two different clubs. Before him, only Ronaldo and Neymar accomplished this.

Ronaldo scored 21 goals with Manchester United before becoming the all-time top scorer with 105 goals for Real Madrid. He also netted 14 goals in 23 matches with Juventus.

Kane closing in on Beckham’s English record

In addition to his club achievements, Kane is nearing a record for England. With his two goals, he has 53 total goal contributions in the Champions League (42 goals and 11 assists), just one short of David Beckham’s record for English players.

Beckham’s record stands at 54 contributions — 14 goals and 30 assists with Manchester United, plus two goals and eight assists with Real Madrid. He did not score or assist while playing for AC Milan and PSG.

Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney is third on the list with 51 goal contributions in the Champions League during his time with the club.
