Harry Kane is establishing himself as one of the top strikers worldwide. In Bayern Munich’s latest Champions League match, he scored again, marking a significant achievement that places him ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in historical stats.

Bayern won 4-0 against Club Brugge on Matchday 3 of the Champions League, positioning themselves at the top of their group. Kane netted the second goal for his team, contributing to an important win.

This goal brought Kane’s total to 20 goals in just 12 matches for Bayern across all competitions this season, which is a faster pace than both Messi and Ronaldo in their prime.

Messi reached 20 goals in 17 matches three times while with Barcelona, and Ronaldo did it in 13 matches during the 2013–14 season with Real Madrid.

The former Tottenham player now tops the scoring lists in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. His latest goal also marked his 45th career goal in Europe’s top tournament, placing him in 18th place all-time, surpassing Antoine Griezmann and Didier Drogba.

Kane continues breaking records

Kane has reached other impressive milestones this season. Earlier, he became the fastest player in Europe’s top leagues — Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and England — to score 100 goals for a single team, doing so in just 104 matches. He surpassed the previous record held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland, who both took 105 matches to achieve the same.

Kane is also on track to reach another record that only two players have accomplished. He has currently scored in eight consecutive matches and is nearing the record of 12 straight games held by Ronaldo and Haaland. The Norwegian will aim to extend his own streak on Sunday, October 26, when Manchester City faces Aston Villa.

Kylian Mbappe recently came close to joining that exclusive group, scoring in 11 straight matches before being unable to find the net against Juventus in a recent 1–0 Champions League victory.
