Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will miss Germany’s World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and Northern Ireland next month, according to Rudi Voeller, the national team director of the German soccer federation (DFB).
Havertz has been out since injuring his knee during Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United earlier this month. He did not play in the match where Arsenal defeated Leeds United at home over the weekend.
“He certainly won’t make it; he has a knee injury. We are unsure about the next steps, whether surgery will be needed or if it can be managed with conservative treatment,” Voeller mentioned at an event on Monday.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta stated last week that more time and tests are required to understand the severity of Havertz’s injury.
At 26, Havertz was also out for more than three months earlier this year due to a hamstring injury.
To strengthen their attack while Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are sidelined, Arsenal signed forward Eberechi Eze on Saturday. Jesus has not returned since his anterior cruciate ligament injury last season.
