Bayern Stunned: Ligue 1 Target Costs Nearly a Trillion

Footem.inBayern Munich is reportedly surprised by Nantes’ asking price of €50 million (approximately IDR 943 billion/ ₹417.17 Cr as of November 7, 2025, 06:30 PM IST) for their young talent, Tylel Tati.

A Product of the Same Academy as Henry and Mbappe

The football world moves fast. Young centre-back Tylel Tati chose to join Nantes from the renowned INF Clairefontaine academy, famous for producing top players like Thierry Henry, Kylian Mbappe, and former Bayern Munich player Mehdi Benatia.

The 17-year-old’s development sparked expectations. Few anticipated Tati becoming an integral part of Nantes’ first team within two years of joining the Ligue 1 club.

The French U18 international debuted with the senior team this season.

The player, with Congolese and Senegalese roots, immediately started in all of Nantes’ opening 12 matches this season, only missing one due to injury.

Attracting Attention from Major Clubs

Big clubs are taking notice. According to French news site Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich is among the top clubs interested in signing Tati.

Bayern has reportedly inquired about Tati. Despite his young age, the left-footed centre-back is a regular starter for Nantes and has impressed with his build-up play, composure on the ball, and speed.

However, the French club, currently 15th in Ligue 1, has set a high price for their young star. They will not release Tati for less than €50 million (approximately IDR 943 billion/ ₹417.17 Cr as of November 7, 2025, 06:30 PM IST).

A transfer in January is not planned. Tati is expected to complete his first full season in Ligue 1 before taking the next step in his career.

Bayern Munich Needs a Player Like Tati

Bayern needs a player with Tati’s profile. A fast centre-back capable of building attacks fits coach Vincent Kompany’s style.

Bayern also lacks left-footed centre-backs, with only Hiroki Itō, currently injured.

However, the near IDR 1 trillion asking price may prevent Bayern from signing Tati.

Nantes clearly doesn’t want to let him go. Bayern may inquire again at the end of the season to see if Nantes has softened their high price.

Given Nantes’ struggle to avoid relegation and Tati’s contract until 2028, Tati could leave Nantes next year.
