Details: Analysts from Opta report that three Premier League teams defeated three La Liga teams in one round of the Champions League. Following two matchdays, Arsenal won against Athletic Bilbao 2–0, Tottenham secured a 1–0 victory over Villarreal, and Liverpool beat Atlético Madrid 3–2.

On Thursday, September 18, Newcastle will face Barcelona at St James’ Park in another England–Spain matchup.

It’s also worth mentioning that after Liverpool’s third goal in the 90+2nd minute, Atlético Madrid’s head coach, Diego Simeone, nearly had an altercation with a supporter from the English club.
