Rasmus Hojlund admitted he did not perform well during his second season at Manchester United after leaving the club last summer.

He joined Napoli on loan last summer after facing challenges at Old Trafford, managing to score only four Premier League goals for the team and being deemed excess after new signings.

Back in Italy, Hojlund has found his form, scoring 14 goals in all competitions for Napoli. Sporting director Giovanni Manna recently stated that Hojlund will remain with the club beyond the summer.

Napoli has an obligation to purchase Hojlund permanently for £38 million if they qualify for the Champions League.

“There are no doubts. Rasmus Hojlund will stay here,” Manna confirmed.

“We have an obligation to buy from Man Utd if Napoli qualifies for the Champions League, but he is part of our plans regardless.”

Reflecting on his challenging time at Manchester, Hojlund acknowledged his performance was lacking but feels he has developed since joining Napoli.

“Looking back at my last time at Manchester United, I know I didn’t do well, but many things have changed now. I have grown,” he told Danish broadcaster TV2.

Hojlund is with the Denmark squad preparing for a World Cup play-off against North Macedonia.
