In contrast, Miguel Herrera’s Costa Rica, with two points, had a 1–1 draw against Nicaragua and a 3–3 draw with Haiti, where they squandered a 2–0 lead.

The top team from each group, along with the two best second-place teams, will qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup. This makes tonight’s match essential for both teams: Honduras wants to secure its lead, while Costa Rica aims for its first win to move up the standings.
