The Belgian coach holds his player in high regard.

Mbokazi is showing great promise at a young age.

Details: After the South Africa vs Nigeria game, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos praised the performance of 19-year-old central defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi.

Broos stated that, given his current form, the young South African should be aiming to play in Europe:

“We have good players, and I hope what we’ve achieved with the national team will give these players the chance to move to Europe. Let’s hope these young men get that opportunity soon and can play abroad. This would be beneficial for the national team and improve competition among South African players locally.

Look at Mbokazi—when you watch him play, he seems to have years of experience. This is just his third match for the national team, and his performance speaks for itself. He absolutely deserves a chance in Europe,” said Hugo Broos.

The South African national team drew 1-1 with Nigeria, putting their World Cup qualification on hold. Bafana Bafana will play their next away match against Zimbabwe in a month, where a win will secure their spot in the World Cup.

Reminder: “That’s not the level we need” – Hugo Broos comments on the absence of Sundowns players from the upcoming squad.
