Hugo Ekitike aims to be one of the best forwards in the world at Liverpool.

The French player has had a strong first season with the team after moving from Eintracht Frankfurt for £69 million last summer. Ekitike is Liverpool’s top scorer this season with 16 goals across all competitions.

His performance has earned him a place in the France national team, and he is likely to play for Les Bleus in the upcoming World Cup.

When asked by Owen Hargreaves if he believes he can be among the best, Ekitike responded, “I think I can. I think I can,” in an interview with TNT Sports.

“There’s room for improvement. I need to keep working hard and advancing, but I’m at the place I aimed to be.

“I’m here and when I say ‘I’m not scared of anything,’ it’s because I thrive under pressure. I enjoy the expectations others have for me.

“It’s thrilling to be here, play in big matches, and compete at high levels. I’ve always wanted this and to represent such a major club.”
