Lionel Messi has shared his excitement about the upcoming 2026 World Cup, adding that he will only play if he is physically ready to contribute to the team.

“I am excited about the World Cup. But I don’t want to be a burden on the team. I have to feel that I am physically well and be sure that I can help the team and contribute things for the group,” Messi said.

“I will evaluate daily to see if I am really physically fit enough to be able to participate in the World Cup,” Messi added.
