Liam Rosenior acknowledged that he would have joined the fans in booing Chelsea for their first-half display against West Ham United during their comeback win on Saturday evening.
The Stamford Bridge crowd reacted with loud boos at halftime as Chelsea trailed by two goals to the relegation-fighting Hammers. Trevoh Chalobah and Robert Sanchez seemingly clashed with supporters before heading down the tunnel.
However, Chelsea made a remarkable turnaround after the break, scoring three goals from Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella, and Enzo Fernandez.
Liam Rosenior: I would have booed Chelsea first half too
Rosenior expressed gratitude towards the fans for their support. “The fans were fantastic in the second half,” the head coach said during his post-match comments.
“They were right to boo. I would have booed us in the first half. Our performance was not up to the required standard in terms of teamwork, energy, and decision-making.
“It’s great to see them so happy and satisfied with the team’s performance just 45 minutes later. I told the players at halftime that we could turn what felt like the worst moment of the season into the best. And they responded by playing brilliantly in the second half.”
