Idrissa Gueye Becomes Everton’s Oldest Derby Goalscorer Since 1926

In the fifth round of the English Premier League, Liverpool won against Everton in the Merseyside derby.

At Anfield, Liverpool secured a 2-1 victory with goals from Gravenberch and Ekitike. Mohamed Salah contributed with an assist.

Idrissa Gueye scored for Everton, making his mark in the 58th minute. He became the second-oldest goalscorer for Everton in matches against Liverpool, following Sam Chedgzoy, who scored at 37 in February 1926.

Gueye, 35, returned to Everton in 2022 after three years at PSG. This marks his first goal for the team in the 2023/2024 season.
