At Anfield, Liverpool secured a 2-1 victory with goals from Gravenberch and Ekitike. Mohamed Salah contributed with an assist.
Idrissa Gueye scored for Everton, making his mark in the 58th minute. He became the second-oldest goalscorer for Everton in matches against Liverpool, following Sam Chedgzoy, who scored at 37 in February 1926.
