Rute Cardoso, the widow of Diogo Jota, attended the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards ceremony, where she was photographed on the red carpet.
Her presence at the event was a touching moment to remember the late former Liverpool and Portugal national team player.
Diogo Jota, who was 28, tragically died on July 3rd in a car accident alongside his brother, André Silva, on the A-52 motorway near Cernadilla, Spain. The Lamborghini Jota was driving went off the road and caught fire, leaving no survivors.
Before his death, Diogo Jota and Rute Cardoso had recently married after being together for many years. He is also survived by their three children.
