Azerbaijani team Qarabag held Chelsea to a draw in the fourth match of the Champions League group stage. Qarabag put up a strong performance and earned a well-deserved point against the English side. Just before halftime, in the 39th minute, Marko Janković converted a penalty awarded for a handball, giving Qarabag the lead.
In the second half, substitute Alejandro Garnacho scored for Chelsea in the 52nd minute to level the score. Despite Chelsea’s efforts to find a winning goal, the Qarabag defense held firm. After four matches, both teams are now on 7 points. In another fixture, Cypriot team Paphos recorded their first-ever victory in the Champions League by defeating Spanish side Villarreal 1-0. Derrick Luckassen scored the historic goal with a header in the 46th minute. Villarreal created several opportunities but could not prevent the defeat.
