Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri has announced that he is considering retiring from professional football following the 2025-26 Indian Super League (ISL) season. His final decision will depend on Bengaluru FC’s performance and their qualification for continental championships.
Chhetri has set a personal goal to score 15 goals in the current ISL season. The veteran player has already retired from international football and will no longer represent India on the field.
He stated that his immediate goal is to score 15 goals and then retire. He clarified that he will only continue playing after this season if his club, Bengaluru FC, manages to qualify for an Asian tournament.
