The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is set to unveil the new head coach for the Indian men’s football team on August 1. After a rigorous selection process, the federation has narrowed down the list of 170 applicants to three prominent names: Khalid Jamil, Stephen Constantine, and Stefan Tarkovic.
The AIFF’s Technical Committee, led by I. M. Vijayan, shortlisted the candidates during a meeting on July 22. The committee reviewed the credentials of 20 coaches—10 Indian and 10 foreign—before finalizing the top three contenders. The final decision will be made during an emergency meeting of the AIFF Executive Committee.
The Indian men’s football team has been without a head coach since July 2, following Manolo Marquez’s departure. The new coach will face the immediate challenge of improving the team’s performance in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, where India currently sits at the bottom of Group C.
The AIFF’s decision will mark the beginning of a new chapter for Indian football. Fans eagerly await the announcement, hoping the new coach will bring success and elevate the team’s global standing.
Stay tuned for the official announcement on August 1, as Indian football takes a significant step forward.
