Nice is reportedly interested in a loan deal for Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
The Uruguayan player has faced challenges since joining Manchester United from Paris Saint-Germain for about £51 million in 2024.
This season, Ugarte has only started twice in the Premier League and is looking for more playing time as the World Cup approaches next summer. While Galatasaray has shown interest, Nice has also entered the competition, according to French source Jeunes Footeux.
Nice is owned by Ineos, which is also one of Manchester United’s co-owners, potentially helping their efforts to sign the 24-year-old. Currently sitting 13th in Ligue 1, Nice aims to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.
Manchester United’s decision on Ugarte will likely depend on their own transfer plans. The team is looking to strengthen its midfield, considering players like Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace, Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, and Ruben Neves from Al-Hilal. However, it remains uncertain if they will have sufficient funds in January after spending over £200 million in the summer.
