“I hope the agreement between Israel and Hamas leads to calm among protesters. Everyone should be content with the peace plan and support the process. This situation transcends football but impacts our sport as well,” Infantino said.
Previously, several countries called for the suspension of the Israeli national team from FIFA and UEFA competitions, including the upcoming 2026 World Cup in the United States.
US President Donald Trump emphasized that he would ensure the Israeli team remains in the World Cup if they qualify.
Infantino has not directly addressed the potential disqualification of Israel, despite pressure from various organizations.
As of now, the Israeli national team is positioned third in Group I, facing competition from Italy and Norway.
