Inter Miami addressed Lionel Messi’s contract situation and his future ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Inter Miami’s elimination at the hands of PSG in the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup had consequences. Lionel Messi, the team’s star, became the subject of numerous rumors regarding his future with the Herons, especially with the 2026 World Cup just months away.
To clear up any doubts about what lies ahead for the Argentine star, Inter Miami addressed the situation and clarified that both parties have a strong intention to renew the contract once the current deal comes to an end.
The news was reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano, who shared the statement from the Florida franchise through his official X account (formerly Twitter).
“EXCL: Inter Miami club sources’ position on Leo Messi’s future. Leo is under contract until the end of 2025. The reality is that both parties are interested in continuing the relationship. The necessary steps are being taken with the right mindset to make it happen,” he reported via @FabrizioRomano.
