At 38, Luis Suarez continues to be a standout player in MLS. The experienced Uruguayan striker has scored six goals this season and leads his team with 10 assists. Drawing from his vast experience, the Inter Miami star recently shared his top three forwards in the game, notably leaving out Lionel Messi’s teammate.

“For number 9, I would choose Julian (Alvarez) first, then Harry Kane, and I really like Haaland. I prefer him over Lautaro (Martinez), but it’s not that I don’t like Lautaro—I love him. I just connect more with Haaland’s style. That doesn’t take away from Lautaro, who is a fantastic player. He’s made strides at Inter and is world-class,” said Luis Suarez, via DavooXeneize stream.

While Lautaro Martinez is widely recognized as one of the best, his skills mainly focus on scoring goals, with less emphasis on versatility and playmaking. His role as a starter for the Argentine national team is under pressure from Julian Alvarez’s rise. Despite this, his ability to score with Inter Milan keeps him among the top scorers.

Luis Suarez’s choice of Julian Alvarez as the top striker aligns with the Uruguayan’s playing style in his prime. Alvarez’s versatility and creativity make him adaptable in any attacking position, ranking him alongside Harry Kane. However, Alvarez’s speed adds an element of threat that sets him apart from the English forward.

Julian Alvarez of Atletico de Madrid, Harry Kane of Bayern Munich, and Erling Haaland of Manchester City.

Luis Suarez highlights a young striker who has caught his attention

Luis Suarez has long admired strikers who are not only goal scorers but also versatile team players. This preference led him to recently highlight a young forward who has particularly impressed him, drawing comparisons to a notable player from Arsenal FC.

“One player surprised me. He’s clearly ahead of the others (I mentioned). I really like Joao Pedro, the Chelsea player. I had only seen him a couple of times at Brighton, but now I’m truly impressed. I’m not sure how old he is… He didn’t catch my attention like he does now… The Arsenal player (Viktor Gyokeres), who was previously at Sporting Lisbon, still has some work to do. He’s good, but he’s not quite there yet.” Luis Suarez commented, via DavooXeneize stream.

In his short time at Chelsea, Joao Pedro has shown remarkable versatility during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. He has scored key goals and assisted teammates, making a significant impact. On the other hand, Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal’s recent signing, has faced challenges in meeting expectations, receiving criticism from fans for not yet displaying his true potential on the field.
