Ten-man Inter Milan staged a remarkable comeback to defeat AS Monaco 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Stade Louis II. Despite going down to ten men in the first half, the Italian side overturned a deficit to secure the victory.
Monaco started brightly, with Maghnes Akliouche firing them into the lead with a powerful strike in the 2nd minute. Inter’s hopes of a comeback were dealt a significant blow when Hakan Çalhanoğlu received a red card in the 36th minute for a reckless tackle.
However, the Nerazzurri showed great resilience in the second half. Captain Lautaro Martínez equalized in the 60th minute, skillfully beating a defender before finding the net. The winner came in the 80th minute from summer signing Ange-Yoan Bonny, who sealed the impressive turnaround for Inter.
