Barcelona is set to play against Real Oviedo in matchday 6 of LaLiga, an important match as they pursue league leaders Real Madrid. There are ongoing concerns about Lamine Yamal, who has missed several recent games. The big question is whether he will be available for today’s match.

Lamine has been absent for three matches with Barcelona—two in LaLiga against Valencia and Getafe, as well as the Champions League opener against Newcastle. This will be the fourth consecutive game without him.

Although he will not be part of the team for the match against Oviedo, his return is approaching. Hansi Flick mentioned in a press conference that Lamine could return in one of Barcelona’s next two matches, either on Sunday, September 28, against Real Sociedad or on Wednesday, October 1, in the Champions League against PSG.

The 18-year-old is eager to return, especially after finishing behind Ousmane Dembele in the Ballon d’Or voting. Although he has won back-to-back Kopa Trophies, he knows there is more he aims to achieve.

Will Lamine Yamal play against Real Oviedo?

It has been confirmed that Lamine Yamal will not be playing against Oviedo. Flick revealed his traveling squad this morning, and Lamine was not included.

Lamine is still recovering from a pubis injury that has kept him out since returning from September’s international break. Despite his absence, Barcelona has achieved three straight wins without him and will be aiming for a fourth today to stay competitive with Real Madrid at the top of the standings.

Barcelona’s squad list

Flick will take the following players to the Carlos Tartiere Stadium: Joan Garcia, Szczesny, Eder Aller; Ronald Araujo, Cubarsi, Christensen, Gerard Martin, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Jofre; Pedri, Marc Casado, Dani Olmo, Frenkie de Jong, Marc Bernal, Dro Fernandez; Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Marcus Rashford, Roony, Toni Fernandez.
