Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are the top players in men’s tennis. For the second year in a row, they have led the ATP Tour. Recently, Italian player Matteo Arnaldi shared insights on why Alcaraz and Sinner stand out from the competition.

In 2025, Alcaraz and Sinner won a total of fourteen titles, with no other player claiming more than four. Alcaraz secured eight titles, including two Grand Slams and three ATP Masters 1000 events, while Sinner won six, including the ATP Finals in Turin and one Masters 1000 title.

The pair has dominated Grand Slam events over the past two years, with Novak Djokovic being the only other player to win a title in 2023 aside from them. This year, the only other player to reach a major final besides Alcaraz and Sinner was Alexander Zverev at the 2025 Australian Open in Melbourne.

Many competitors have attempted to challenge their reign, but Alcaraz and Sinner’s excellence and consistency have made it difficult for others to prevail. Their rivalry has prompted both to improve at a faster pace than their peers.

Both players actively work on their weaknesses during training with their coaches. In an interview with Puntodebreak, Arnaldi discussed their dominance, highlighting their extraordinary level of consistency that others struggle to match:

Alcaraz and Sinner are more consistent than the rest of the Top 10. They also possess an extra edge in crucial moments that others lack. The main difference is their consistency. Zverev, Fritz, and others often have close matches but fail to win multiple tournaments in a row or get eliminated early in Grand Slams.

Alcaraz and Sinner are scheduled to play an exhibition match in Seoul, South Korea, on January 10, just eight days before the Australian Open begins in Melbourne. Both players aim to maintain their strong form into the next year and add more Grand Slam titles to their collections.

Matteo Arnaldi aims to learn from Alcaraz and Sinner

This season, Matteo Arnaldi struggled with consistency despite reaching a career-high of World No.30 in 2024. His best results came at the Delray Beach Open, where he reached the semifinals, and the Madrid Open, where he made it to the quarter-finals. In other tournaments, he did not perform well.
