Bari player Giuseppe Sibilli has received a 16-month suspension for taking part in illegal betting on sports. He will spend eight months of this ban in therapy sessions and visiting gambling addiction treatment centers, youth clubs, and schools.

Details: The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) issued this penalty after finding that Sibilli placed bets on UEFA and FIFA matches, as well as games in Italian professional leagues. Along with the suspension, he must pay a €20,000 fine, meaning he will miss the rest of the 2025/26 season.

This situation adds to ongoing scandals in Italian football tied to illegal betting, with notable suspensions already handed to players like Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Fagioli.
