Italy’s football leadership is facing significant challenges.
The deadlines for stadium construction projects have been completely missed.
Details: In a recent interview, FIGC President Gabriele Gravinawarned that Italy may miss the chance to host EURO 2032 due to slow progress on new stadiums.
“In the last 15 years, we’ve built or renovated only six stadiums, while France completed 12 and Turkey 33.”
He added, “EURO 2032 is a great opportunity for our venues, but we risk losing it. We need modern facilities and support from the state. The private sector is willing to invest, but the process needs to be made easier. Without someone to speed things up, this chance may slip away.”
Earlier, Italy was selected to co-host the tournament with Turkey, which means only five stadiums need to be prepared instead of ten.
Reminder: Italian coaches’ association is calling for the national team to boycott matches against Israel.
