Last night, Ivory Coast and Cameroon reached the halfway point in the Africa Cup of Nations group stage, ending their match in a 1-1 draw.

This match featured Manchester United players Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo as they compete for a place in the knockout round.

In their first games, Ivory Coast secured a 1-0 victory over Mozambique, with Amad Diallo scoring the winning goal and earning the man of the match title.

Meanwhile, Cameroon won 1-0 against Gabon, leaving both teams tied on points and goal difference heading into the second match.

Unfortunately, neither team managed to gain an advantage in this game, resulting in both having four points with a goal difference of +1.

The first half was action-packed but ended without any goals.

Ivory Coast started strong, hitting the crossbar early on, putting Cameroon on the defensive.

However, the Indomitable Lions found their rhythm and posed a real threat on counterattacks, creating an end-to-end contest.

It remained 0-0 at halftime, but it didn’t take long for the scoreline to change. Just after the break, Amad Diallo scored again, similar to his previous match.

While that goal secured a win last time, this match saw an own goal from Ghislain Konan equalize for Cameroon.

Media from both countries reacted to Diallo’s second consecutive man of the match performance.

The Ivorian outlet Fraternité Matin highlighted Diallo’s goal, stating, “After the break, the game changed. In the 51st minute, Amad Diallo ignited the spark.”

They added, “With a great cross from Ghislain Konan, the Manchester United player cut inside and fired a shot beyond the goalkeeper, leaving Epassy with no chance.

“Ivory Coast celebrated as the Elephants took the lead (1-0).

Africa Top Sports also covered the match, saying: “The defending champions scored in the 51st minute thanks to Amad Diallo’s quality.”

The report noted, “Diallo received a perfectly placed pass from Ghislain Konan, outpaced his defender, and curved a shot past Cameroon’s goalkeeper Devis Epassy, prompting celebrations among Ivorian fans.
