José Juan Macías has found relief after a long struggle with injuries, according to TUDN. The 25-year-old forward is making a strong comeback with Pumas, scoring in consecutive matches against Mazatlán and Tigres. After the win, he shared his feelings about joining the team again. “It’s been tough years for me, I’ve been tested, but I’m back and thankful to everyone. This is thanks to the whole team, we understand each other very well. I enjoy it because this is my job,” he said.
His goal against Tigres not only boosted his confidence but also highlighted his importance in the team’s offense. Although Pumas has won only two of their last six games, Macías’ return has brought hope to those looking forward to his performance.
Once viewed as one of Mexico’s top young talents, Macías also mentioned the team’s shared goals. “I think the team’s performance is important because we’re creating scoring chances, and the goals will keep coming. We have to be more clinical to raise our hand and say: ‘Pumas is a big team, and we’re here,’” he stated.
After nine rounds, Pumas stands seventh in the league with 13 points, three points behind Tigres, who currently occupy the last playoff spot. This week, Pumas will play Juárez away and then host América at the Olímpico Universitario, with Macías stepping up as their key striker.
