Jaap Stam believes Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba would be a strong choice to replace Casemiro at Manchester United.
Casemiro is set to leave Manchester United when his contract ends this summer. Even though he has performed well recently, the club has opted to let him go as he approaches his 34th birthday.
Manchester United plans to bring in at least one new midfielder this summer. Stam recommends that the club find a suitable replacement from the Premier League. He sees Baleba as a player with the essential skills to strengthen the midfield.
The Cameroonian is believed to be among several midfield options on the club’s list for this summer. Other names being considered include Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.
“I really like Carlos Baleba at Brighton and think he could replace Casemiro at Manchester United,” Stam told The Metro.
“Manchester United should seek a replacement who can run well and is effective on the ball. Baleba has those qualities.”
