Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United in the summer of 2021 for £73 million from Borussia Dortmund, where he was known for his impressive performance as a winger in the Bundesliga.

However, he struggled to perform at Old Trafford, ending his United career with 12 goals and six assists in 82 matches, numbers that did not match the investment made in him.

As a result, United sidelined him from senior matches, leading to a loan move as part of a broader team reshuffle under new ownership.

Sancho moved to Aston Villa on loan this summer, aiming to revive his career under coach Unai Emery, but he has not secured a regular starting position.

He has played 529 minutes in all competitions without scoring or assisting, and he has been left out in several Premier League games despite being fit.

Sancho also faced criticism after a disciplinary issue in a European match, making it harder for him to regain momentum during his loan.

Emery’s hesitation to rely on him, along with Villa’s strong performance without him, has put the winger on the sidelines rather than at the heart of their gameplan.

From United’s perspective, there is little interest in bringing Sancho back or extending his contract, which runs until summer 2026, with the club open to letting him go without a new deal.

In a recent match between Manchester United and Aston Villa, Sancho was unable to play due to loan restrictions, and Villa won the game.

After the match, Sancho shared some photos on Instagram with a message: “You gotta serve a purpose to be around me in my new season. It’s real personal.”

According to the Express, Sancho has received support from fellow loanee Marcus Rashford after posting his cryptic message.

Both players left United this summer, with Sancho moving to Aston Villa and Rashford going to Barcelona, but their performances have been very different.

Sancho has struggled to make his mark at Villa, while Rashford has found his form in Spain, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists in 24 matches.

Despite competition in Barcelona’s attack, Rashford has become a key player under coach Hansi Flick.

Rashford’s support for Sancho’s post was evident, along with reactions from teammates Bruno Fernandes and Tyrell Malacia, as well as Villa players like Amadou Onana, Matty Cash, and Ian Maatsen.
