Jamie Carragher has renewed his criticism of Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian striker was not included in Liverpool’s Champions League match against Inter Milan. The former Anfield defender did not hold back, expressing discontent over Salah’s recent social media posts and behavior. Speaking on CBS Sports before the match, he said, “I really hope they win tonight. I shared my opinion last night and don’t want to dwell on it. But I felt a bit frustrated seeing that post today.” The post featured a photo of Salah alone in a gym in Liverpool.
The 47-year-old former Liverpool player emphasized legitimate frustration but also the player’s responsibility: “We all feel that frustration. But when you look at the coach and hear people say, ‘Oh, he should bring him on,’ it’s important to consider the context…” Carragher believes, like many others, that Salah’s statement was misguided and that this victory clearly indicates that Slot’s team is no longer dependent on him.
