Javier Tebas is still upset. Just days after the cancellation of Villarreal-Barcelona’s relocation to Miami, the La Liga president expressed his disappointment about this decision. He also took the opportunity to criticize Real Madrid players, especially Thibaut Courtois, who referred to “censorship” during a press conference ahead of the Champions League match against Juventus.
“We approached UEFA, which reluctantly accepted the cancellation, as did the European Commissioner. There are many factors that led to this decision. Real Madrid players only know how to say: ‘falsified, falsified, falsified.’ I hear Courtois and it’s the same when José Angel Sanchez (Real’s general director) speaks; they both say the same thing. Obviously, what else would Real Madrid players say? Would they dare to say otherwise?” Tebas stated after the Nueva Economia Forum event.
