Details: Barcelona president Joan Laporta shared a funny incident involving the Catalan club’s delegation on their way to the gala:
“On our way to the airport, we hadn’t eaten all day due to travel and preparation for the ceremony, so we were very hungry. Then Lamine spotted a burger place, and he and Cubarsí stopped to get food for everyone. We ate it on the way. It was really delicious,” Laporta said.
Their minor effort was worthwhile, as Barcelona’s representatives won multiple awards in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Lamine Yamal received the Kopa Trophy, Vicky Lopez won the equivalent award for women, and Aitana Bonmatí, the captain of the Barcelona women’s team, secured the women’s Ballon d’Or.
