Johnson sends Vilakazi message to Chiefs?
Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson believes the 19-year-old winger should get more playing time at Amakhosi.
Johnson’s comments came after he observed South Africa’s U20 team at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile.
“They are not starters at their clubs,” Johnson stated via FARPost. “At that age, they should be starters. I can mention a player I know, Mfundo Vilakazi.
“He has performed well with about three assists and has played very well. But he is not a starter at Kaizer Chiefs. He is always in the team, but he is not starting.
“This is important when talking about the golden generation,” he added.
Meanwhile, Amajita exited the tournament after a 3-1 defeat to Colombia in the last 16 round on Wednesday, where Vilakazi scored a penalty for the team.
