Jorge Maciel Highlights Tessmann’s Mistake on Hateboer’s Red Card Incident

This Sunday, Lyon and Brest ended their match in a goalless draw (0-0) in Brittany, wrapping up the 11th round of Ligue 1. The dull match at Francis-Le Blé was impacted by the early dismissal of Hans Hateboer in the 8th minute for a harsh challenge on Pathé Mboup. This pivotal moment forced Lyon to defend throughout the game. Additionally, Jorge Maciel highlighted Tanner Tessmann’s poor form, which led to Hateboer’s mistake:

“Such passes in this situation are unacceptable, and they lead to mistakes. We need to be confident that the pass will reach our teammate. It was an unnecessary error when we were performing reasonably well in the match.” Symbolically, the American midfielder was substituted by Ainsley Maitland-Niles shortly after the red card.
