Recently appointed coach of Benfica after his stint at Fenerbahçe in Turkey, José Mourinho is in the spotlight due to an unpaid hotel bill in Istanbul. According to several Turkish media outlets reported by the Daily Mail, the Special One allegedly left the country without settling a bill of approximately €750,000 at the five-star Four Seasons hotel, where he stayed from July 2024 to August 2025. However, local media has not confirmed whether Mourinho himself or his former club is responsible for the payment.
The British daily also revealed that the Portuguese coach has unusual eating habits. During his first weeks in Istanbul, the 62-year-old Mourinho reportedly limited himself to chicken soup, margherita pizza, ice cream, and sparkling water at nearly every meal. The astronomical amount of the bill raises questions about his spending habits.
