The celebrated French player might make a comeback to Europe.
The Real Madrid icon could join forces again with the Portuguese coach.
Details: As reported by GOAL, Benfica’s new head coach, José Mourinho, has asked the club’s management to sign Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema during the winter transfer window.
Journalist Ekrem Konur notes that Mourinho feels Benzema’s skills would significantly enhance the team’s performance and boost their attacking strength.
Currently, Benzema is contracted with Saudi club Al-Ittihad, where he transferred as a free agent from Real Madrid in 2023.
Since joining Al-Ittihad, Benzema has featured in 64 matches, scoring 41 goals and providing 17 assists. His contract extends until the summer of 2026, and Transfermarkt estimates his value at 7 million euros.
