Al Ahly of Egypt has ended its partnership with head coach Jose Ribeiro. The Spanish manager leaves the club after a brief tenure due to disappointing performance.
The decision followed a meeting of the club’s Planning Committee, which included president Mahmoud El-Khatib and sporting director Mohamed Youssef. They reviewed feedback from the coaching staff and management, leading to a mutual agreement to terminate the contract.
Al Ahly thanked Ribeiro and his team for their efforts but noted that the results did not align with the club’s expectations. Ribeiro’s last match with the team was on Saturday, August 30, where the club suffered a 0–2 defeat against Pyramids.
During Ribeiro’s time, Al Ahly played 7 matches across the Premier League and FIFA Club World Cup, achieving just one win, four draws, and two losses.
