Barcelona player Jules Kounde vented his frustrations after the match against Osasuna. What’s going on?
Barcelona host Osasuna in the continuation of the Spanish league, Friday (28/03/2025) midnight IST. This is a postponed fixture that was due to take place at the beginning of March, but was put back after the death of the Blaugrana’s team doctor.
Playing at the Estadi Olympic Lluis Companys, Barcelona ran out 3-0 winners. All of Barcelona’s goals came from Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo (penalty) and Robert Lewandowski.
Jules Kounde played the full game for Barcelona against Osasuna. Upon further investigation, it seems that the French defender was unhappy with his team’s fixture list.

Barcelona do indeed have a busy schedule, with 7 games in 20 days. The match against Osasuna, which was played before the weekend’s La Liga fixture, was seen as disrespectful to the players.
“I am angry about the date. It’s not normal. We’ve talked a lot about the calendar, we’ve played too many games,” said Kounde, as quoted by Football Espana.
“I know there are people who don’t understand. I consider myself lucky to be able to live from our passion, but this is a lack of respect and not just for the club,” he added.
“I was also talking about Osasuna, who have players who are also on international duty, like Budimir, who I played against and who hasn’t had enough rest. It’s not about the club. Osasuna, Barcelona, Real Madrid…”
“It’s a lack of respect for the players, not just for the club. We are not machines and to produce and play good games we need to rest. All the institutions – not just La Liga – must understand this,” he stressed.
