Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez is uncertain about his future as rumors circulate regarding interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Barcelona.
Alvarez scored twice in Atletico Madrid’s impressive 5-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Tuesday night. His goals contributed to a solid advantage for Diego Simeone’s team in their last-16 matchup.
Since joining Atletico from Manchester City in 2024, Alvarez has netted 45 goals in 98 appearances.
His standout performances have attracted attention from several clubs, with Barcelona targeting him as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Arsenal and Chelsea are also considering bringing the 26-year-old back to the Premier League.
After the match against Spurs, Alvarez expressed uncertainty about his next season, but mentioned he is content in Madrid.
“I don’t know. Maybe yes, maybe no (I’ll be at Atletico next season). I’m happy here. There’s a lot of talk on social media, but it’s just noise. We’re excited to compete in all competitions, and things are going well.”
Simeone shared his views on Alvarez’s situation, noting that the player has performed his best at Atletico and is happy at the club.
“I see Julián Álvarez very happy to be here. Hopefully, he can stay. If we look at the teams he played for, Atleti is where he scored the most goals.”
