Fernando Hidalgo, Julián Álvarez’s agent, has recently addressed rumors about the player’s possible departure from Atlético de Madrid. Despite speculation about a transfer to Barcelona due to an alleged discomfort in Madrid, Álvarez, who joined Atlético after leaving Manchester City, has expressed his happiness under coach Diego Simeone. He is contracted until 2030, with a release clause estimated at nearly €500 million.
In an interview with Calciomercato, Hidalgo dismissed the rumors as unfounded, stating, “None of what has been written is true; these are just fanciful speculations.” Atlético is even considering revising the player’s salary to acknowledge his growing importance in the team. Álvarez, a key player in the squad and a 2022 World Cup champion with Argentina, remains fully committed to the Madrid project.
