Details: In the first round of the UEFA Champions League, Sporting from Portugal faced Kazakhstan’s Kairat at the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon.

During their historic Champions League debut, Kairat not only achieved their first group stage goal but also set a new record. The team traveled 4,292 miles to face Sporting, marking the longest distance between two teams in Champions League history.

The previous record was held by Benfica, who traveled 3,835 miles to play another Kazakh team, Astana, in the 2015/16 season.
