Football has made a strong comeback in Kannur after a long break, receiving a warm welcome from the city. The galleries at the Municipal Jawahar Stadium were packed for all five home matches of the Kannur Warriors FC.
For many, these games were not just sporting events, but a return of old memories and the revival of a local culture. In their first season, Kannur Warriors FC played their matches in Kozhikode as they did not have a home ground. For their second season, the team was welcomed to play on their own soil in Kannur.
